Questions

Before you book

Why choose Flag Beach for your Fuerteventura surf school?

With over 35 years of watersports experience, Flag Beach is Fuerteventura’s longest-established surf school. We operate a mobile surf school, which means we drive you to whichever of the north’s 10+ surf spots has the best conditions each day for your surf lesson. This flexibility ensures beginners get gentle waves whilst more advanced surfers can access the island’s challenging breaks.

Our surf instructors are VDWS-recognised and IKO certified. They know every beach from Corralejo to El Cotillo inside out. We teach in six languages and keep group sizes small for individual attention. All surf equipment such as wetsuits, boards and insurance is included in your surf course package.

What makes Fuerteventura the best place to learn to surf?

Fuerteventura offers year-round surf in warm Canary Islands sunshine. The island’s position captures consistent Atlantic swells, whilst the north shore provides natural protection. This creates ideal conditions for beginners alongside more advanced surf spots for experienced surfers.

Corralejo makes the perfect base. It’s a vivid town with excellent restaurants, bars, a skate park and everything within walking distance of the beautiful beach.

I’ve never done this. Is that a problem?

Not at all. The beginner courses start from zero, on the beach, with a theory lesson before you go near the water. You do need to be able to swim.

How does booking work?

You book and pay for courses, lessons and rentals online through Bloowatch. For packages and stays, send us your dates through the contact form. We confirm by email and ask for a small deposit. Questions first? Call the office on +34 928 866 389 or email [email protected].

When is the beach open?

Every day, 10:00–19:00 from April to September and 10:00–17:00 from October to March. The office is open Monday to Saturday, 08:30–17:30.
