The plan, day by day
- Day1
Our 1 day beginner course starts off with a 1 hour theory lesson. We then take you to the beach for a 3 hour beach lesson followed by 3 hour self improvement time. Our one day course does not include time in the water, so make sure to book 2 + days. The theory lesson includes: Introduction to kites Safety Tides, weather Look at different types and sizes of kites and boards The beach lesson includes: Rigging up (inflation, connecting lines, and how it works) Launching (off the beach) Landing (on the beach) Basic flying, figures of eights, one handed flying, Explanation of the wind window and safety systems 3 hours self-improvement is a special free service that no other school offers. After your regular beach lesson you can either stay on the beach and practice by yourself or come the next day in the morning (10am to 1pm only) and practice before your boat session. By practicing more time on the beach you can significantly improve your kite flying skills and perform much better on your 2nd day in the water. That’s just the first day of your kitesurfing holiday, view the full course itinerary below to find out more.
- Day2
The second lesson is given in the open water from our boats. This teaching method allows the student to practice safely, without obstacles and there is no need to go along the beach. Water lessons are split up into two parts. First you learn how to . That means putting all the manoeuvres that you were taught day one into practice. You’ll use the kite to go across the water, / upwind and learn how to relaunch the kite from the water after you crash it. Every exercise will be demonstrated by the instructor first, who will then pass the kite over to you and hold onto you while you practice. Then you’ll get to practice by yourself and get comfortable with being alone with a kite. Your second session in the water is spent with the board. As before first you will hold onto the instructor while he demonstrates the techniques to you, then he will hold onto you until you are ready to practice and improve by yourself.
- Day3
On the 3rd day of your kite course you will go straight into the water and straight onto the board. We focus on teaching you whatever is needed to get you to an independent level. The day is split into two sessions, both in the water with the board. To really master kitesurfing it is always best to practice as much as possible. If you are committed to learning this wonderful sport we advise that you go on and take 5 days or more.
- Day4
It’s all about practice on day 4 and getting you completely comfortable on the board. The day is split into two sessions, both in the water with the board. At the end of day 4 we would expect you to be able to ride back and forth downwind in both directions.
- Day5
Day 5 is again split into two sessions, both in the water with the board. We’d expect you to be quite comfortable on the board and with the kite now and it’s all about developing that natural flair and enjoying the ride. At the end of day 5 we would expect you to be able to ride across the wind and maybe starting to look at riding upwind.
