We offer a wide range of tuition, from beginner up to advanced. Although Flag Beach is in fact an intermediate - advanced location, we are very lucky in that some 20 minutes drive away we have an ideal beginners teaching lagoon. All our beginner / renewal / improver courses run in this lagoon, where there is shallow (1m), protected water with a sandy bottom. This allows us to cater for everyone's needs.
All courses are run by qualified instructors, Flag Beach being one of the VDWS recognized centers.
The one day beginner course is run 4 times a week every Thursday, Friday, Sunday, Monday at 10:00 am and aims at giving you a taste of windsurfing. There is a limited amount that you can learn in one day; however, it is a fun day out and most of the 4 hour course is spent on the water except for 30 minutes theory to cover the safety aspects.
This course includes all equipment and pick up if needed.
There are 2 courses per week and these are run either Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday, Sunday, Monday and start at 10:00 am.
We pick you up from your hotel or wherever you are staying in Corralejo and take you to the beach where you will be given 3 - 4 hours of theory about the wind, currents, the right of ways, safety and equipment. You will learn to rig a sail, how to handle it on the beach and use the simulator. By the end of that session, you will also go into the water to do board balancing.
On day 2 and 3, you will again be picked up and spend 3 - 4 hours on the water learning to sail across the wind, sail up wind, tack (turning into the wind) and steering.
At the end of this course you should be at the level to take your Level 1 certificate which you can do with us.
Max group size: 8 persons per instructor.
This course is aimed at those who completed a beginner's course last year, but since then have done little windsurfing.
We run this course twice a week every Thursday and Friday or Sunday and Monday at 10:00 am; however, you can also do Friday, Sunday or Monday, Thursday if this betters suit you with your arrival days on the island.
During the 8 hour course (4 hours per day) you will recap the basics, learn to gybe, improve your tacking skills and cover launching and landing techniques from the beach.
This course is run in our teaching lagoon on the other side of the island in flat water. At the end of the course you can take your Level 1 or 2 windsurfing certificate.
The course price includes all equipment and pick up if needed.
This course is aimed at those who have done around 30 hours windsurfing, and now need to get to the next level.
We run this course twice a week every Thursday and Friday or Sunday and Monday and 10:00 am; however, you can also do Friday, Sunday or Monday, Thursday if this betters suit you with your arrival days on the island.
During this 8 hour course (4 hours per day), you will be taught to fast tack, gybe, get into the harness and beach start.
This course is run in our teaching lagoon on the other side of the island in flat water. At the end of the course you can take your Level 2 or 3 windsurfing certificate.
The course price includes all equipment and pick up if needed.
Our waterstart course is run everyday that we have enough wind and this is taught at Flag Beach. We only run this course when the conditions are right (side shore, flat water, 15+ knots).
It consists of 2 hours with a small group of minimum 2 people, maximum 4 people with an emphasis on practice though we will spend 20 - 30 minutes on the beach.
The course price includes all equipment.
Our gybe course is run everyday that we have enough wind and this is taught at Flag Beach. We only run this course when the conditions are right (side shore, flat water, 15+ knots).
It consists of 2 hours with a small group of minimum 2 people, maximum 4 people with an emphasis on practice though we will spend 20 - 30 minutes on the beach.
The course price includes all equipment.
